Solution
The flooring system to be installed had to be fit to go alongside advanced scientific, technological and medical innovations and ensure patients and medical community have safe access to all clinical, research and education services.
Safety Direct Group flooring department in consultation with hospital management recommended the specification to suit the required working environment and meet the required standards. An Innovative flooring was specified and installed to the floors and coving in the patient catering facility by Safety Direct Group technicians. This solution was chosen to ensure a hygienic environment that would minimise the risk from harmful contaminants.
Safety Direct Group installed an anti-microbial flooring system which actively assists-on-site cleaning regimes by inhibiting the growth of up to 99.9% of bacteria on the floor surface. The finish is a durable and reliable flooring material that is able to withstand abusive environments without failing. It resists chemicals; wear, heat and hot water so that the floor’s surface remains level and crack free.
A speedy installation to patients catering facility’s floor, which was applied in both 4 mm and 6mm thicknesses to match the demands of the environment was accomplished.
On completion all new installed floors a slip resistance assessment is conducted which is continued periodically through the entire warranty period and beyond to establish a continued historic record of safety.
